2011 MBL Veterans Playoffs

Colonel Hart's Aces over Varsity Club Hornets

In a rematch of the 2010 Championship the Aces controlled the game from the outset claiming the 2011 MBL Veterans Division Championship.

Quarterfinals

Leff's Beavers 13 West Allis Timber Rattlers 12

In what was the most painful game of the season to watch or play in of the season, the Beavers slipped by the Timber Rattlers coming back from a 12 to 11 deficit in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.  The Beavers committed twelve errors on the day and staked the Timber Rattlers to an early 5 to 1 lead.  The Beavers began to comeback when what normally would be a highlight home run off the left field foul pole into a twenty mile an hour wind by Rob Tschimperle was marred as Timber Rattler's manager Mike Gawlitta gave chase into the corner only to step in a low spot and blow out his knee requiring an ambulance.  Four innings and two lead changes later, Bryan Ureda got a two out single in the seventh and stole second to put the tying run for the Beavers at second base for Mike Paradowski.  On the 2-1 pitch to Paradowski, Rattlers pitcher Shaun Szot broke his arm while deliving the ball.  Ultimately, the Beavers pushed across two runs on the depleted Rattlers to move on to face the Colonel Hart's Aces on Sunday.  Bryan Ureda 3-5, Rob Tschiperle 2-4 with a HR and Andy Bartosh 2-4 led the Beavers.  Mike Gawlitta was 2-2 before getting injured, Szot was 2-4 and Ryan Johnson 2-5 for the Rattlers.

Milwaukee Hornets 12 Wisconsin Wholesalers 2

The Hornets move on to play the Bullfrogs in Sunday's semi-final game.
