Milwaukee Beavers 11 Franklin Snappers 8

The Beavers rallied late to snatch one away from the Snappers 11-8 in a sloppy game Sunday night at Zirkel Field. The Snappers capitalized on a wild first inning by Beaver starter Steve Gustafson, who walked the bases loaded before walking in a run and giving up a two out, two run single staking the Snappers to an early 3-0 lead. The Beavers clawed their way back, after Gustafson settled down, to take a 5-4 lead into the sixth.  In the bottom of the sixth the Snappers jumped back to an 8-5 lead while recording one hit along with two Beaver errors.  The the Beavers did much of the same scoring six runs in the bottom half of the sixth with just three singles, re-claiming an 11-8 lead that held up for the victory as Beaver's closer Mike Schroeder shut down the Snappers once and for all in the seventh. The Beavers leading hitters were Jarrett Gates (2-4, 2rbi) Joe Cefalu (2-5, 2rbi) and Alex Rejniak (2-3, 2rbi). The Snappers were led by Andy Saustad (2-3, 2rbi) and Bobby Widenski (2-3, 1rbi).

 

 

Town & Lake Braves 7 Flannery's & Johnny V's 3

The Braves locked up with Johnny V's on Saturday night. Paul Mallas was on the mound for his first start of the year. The Braves scored 1 in the first. In the second inning Adam Graves lead off and drew a walk, then Josh Szuslik singled, then new comer Lee Waechter came up for his first AB in over 3 years and on the 2nd pitch drilled a ball to left field that everyone thought was a HR, but it landed at the base of the fence and drove in a run, the Braves would score 1 more in the 2nd to take a 3-0 lead. Johnny V's would come back to score 2 in the third. Then the Braves scored 4 more runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th to take a 7-2 lead. Paul Mallas pitched great not allowing a earned run. Final line on Mallas 5 innings, 2 runs (both unearned), 3K's, 3 BB's and 4 hits.

Steak Out Black Sox 8 St. Francis A's 6

The Black Sox got their first win of the 2011 season on Sunday afternoon, defeating the A's 8-6 behind the pitching of Jon Guzman. Guzman pitched 5 solid innings giving up 4 runs on 9 hits. The Black Sox put together a total team effort. 1-5 of the Black Sox lineup combined for 9 0f the teams 12 hits, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored. The A's were led offensively by Shawn Kozey (2-3).

Brew City Indians 9 All Star Sportswear 7

The Tribe moves to 2-0 behind clutch hitting by Joe Oberlander 4RBI's and Josue Villegas 3RBI's. With a tie 7-7 game in the top of the 4th and bases loaded, Joe Oberlander knocked in the go ahead and Insurance runs. Justin Mcguire shuts the door from there going 4 strong innings to pick up the save.

Brown Deer Supreme Builders 6 O'Brien's Orioles 5

Brendon Dorn remained undefeated on the season by going the distance serving 11 strikeouts and allowing only three hits. His only hiccup was in the third as he struggled to find the zone. He walked four, gave up two hits, and allowed all five runs in the inning. Both hits were 2 rbi singles by Obrien's Jason Peters and Stephen Seiver. However, the Builders slowly fought back. Tommy Rapp hit a 2 rbi single in the fourth to bring the game within two runs. Then, in the bottom of the sixth Chris Moser tied up the game with a two rbi single. In the final inning Dave Schimenz led off with a single and Nate Osterndorf followed with a bunt single. With one out the Orioles opted to intentional walk Dave Kuczynski to load the bases and face the Builder's cleanup hitter Matt Cook. He hit a fly out to left and Schimenz was called safe on the slide home for a Builder's win. Chris Moser and Sean Carolan both had a multi hit game to lead Brown Deer's offense.

Flannery's & Johnny V's 9 All Star Sportswear 7

A 5-run 5th inning was the difference for the JV's. Paul Lennart lead the JV's with 2 hits while Lennart and Jeff Kustermann drove in 2 runs a piece. Aaron Dressnandt went the distance to pick up the win. Jason Mikula lead the All-Stars with 3 hits and 2 RBI's.

Milwaukee Tigers 14 Steak Out Black Sox 5

Tigers get a notch in the winning column with an explosive offensive outburst and defeat Steak out 14-5. Everyone in the line played hard and contributed to the win. Eric Cluppert homers and Kyle Knaust earns the victory on the mound.

Milwaukee Beavers 24 St. Francis A's 3

The Beavers broke through into the win column with a lopsided victory over the A's Friday night. Alex Rejniak pitched 5 no hit innings for the Beavers, striking out eight. Matt Burke finished the game for the Beavers as the A's ended the no hit bid in the sixth with a single. The Beavers offense was led by several multi hit performances including Justin Barkhurst (3 for 4, 5RBI), Jarrett Gates (3 for 5, 3RBI), Ryan Piemeisl (3 for 5, 2 doubles, 1RBI) and Greg Ketz (4 for 5, 3RBI).

Fed Life Phillies 19 Brew City Indians 11

FED LIFE PHILLIES 2-1 ON THE SEASON WON A DOG FIGHT SUNDAY AT HARDEN FIELD 19-11 IN 6 INNINGS. LEADING THE PHILLIES WAS JOE KOOPING WHO WAS 4 FOR 4 HITTING FOR THE CYCLE ALONG WITH A WALK. BRET HUOTARI WENT 3 FOR 5 WITH 6 RBI'S. THE PHILLIES TOOK A BIG LEAD 11-4 AFTER 3 INNINGS THANKS TO GOOD PITCHING FROM TROY BLACKBURN AND GOOD TIMELY HITTING. THE INDIANS RALLIED BACK SCORING 5 IN THE FOURTH TO MAKE THE SCORE 11-9 CAPPED BY A 3 RUN HOME RUN. WITH THE SCORE 11-9 BRET HUOTARI CAME IN TO FINISH THE GAME PITCHING CONTROLLED BASEBALL STRIKING OUT 1 AND WALKING 1 TO CAPTURE THE WIN.

THE FED LIFE PHILLIES 1-1 FOR THE SEASON WERE VICTORIOUS OVER A VERY GOOD SUPREME BUILDERS TEAM 6-3 SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT HARDEN FIELD. JUSTIN CALVERT PITCHED A GEM FOR 6 INNINGS FOR THE PHILLIES YIELDING ONE EARNED RUN WHILE STRIKING OUT FOUR WALKING JUST ONE. BRET HOUTARI CAME IN THE SEVENTH TO CLOSE OUT THE GAME TO RECORD THE SAVE. LEADING THE PHILLIES TONIGHT WAS JOE KOOPING AND MILTON CHILDS BOTH WHO WENT 2-4 FOR THE GAME. Bar None Bullfrogs 12 West Allis Timber Rattlers 7

The bullfrogs jumped out to an early lead to start the game. The Timber Rattlers battled and kept themselves in the game but the addition of two runs in the top of the 7th proved to be enough to win the first game of a double header.

The Timber Rattlers jumped out to an early 7-1 lead after two innings. But, Jose Zaragoza settled in on the mound and gave up only one more run the rest of the way, while the Bullfrogs bats came alive over the final four innings to grab their second victory of the day.

The Milwaukee Hornets were led by Nick Kibler on the mound, who pitched a complete game 1 hitter and struck out 18.

Tim Spata picked up his first victory in a Hornet uniform. He pitched a complete game striking out 7.

Leff's Beavers 8 Colonel Hart's Aces 7

The Beavers got off the schneid against the Aces, beating them for the first time in two seasons. The Beavers slowly pulled away, putting two runs on the board in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings while Rob Tschimperle held the potent Aces to just three runs through six innings. In the seventh though the Aces made a game of it, getting the tying run on base before Tschimplerle struck out the final batter. Scott Baily, Tschimplerle and Bryan Ureda had two hits each for the Beavers, while Brett Weber and Andy Mierzwinski had two hits each for the Aces.

Leff's Beavers 12 Colonel Hart's Aces 8

The Beavers completed the sweep by playing solid defense behind starting pitcher Steve Rappl and adding a heavy offense from the middle of the game on. Trailing 4-2 after three innings, the Beavers tallied three runs in the 4th on five singles by Rappl, Josh Hornung, Scott Baily, Todd Voit and Rob Tschimperle. The Beavers added to their lead in the fifth with a three run rally which was extended by Kyle Birchbauer's steal of third. In the sixth the Beavers put the game away with four more runs, keyed by doubles from Bryan Ureda and Rappl. Mike Kusabuske hit a three run home run in the seventh for the Aces to keep the pressure on, but Rappl closed the door for the complete game win. Scott Baily and Steve Rappl had three hits for the Beavers, and hot hitting Todd Voit added two hits, as did Rob Tschimperle and Josh Hornung.
