Brown Deer Supreme Builders 15 Flannery's JV's 5

Nate Osterndorf took the mound for his first time as a Builder in game one of the double header. He struckout 10 batters, walked one, and earned the complete game victory in 5 innings due to ten run rule. Supreme Builders ended the game in 4.2 innings by hitting .535 as a team which scored 15 runs on 15 hits. Everyone in the lineup got a hit and leading the way was Matt Cook (4-4, 3B, 3 rbi, 3 runs), Eric Belter (2-3, 3B, HR, 3 rbi, 3 runs), Sean Carolan (2-3), and Dave Kuczynski (2-3, 3B, 2 rbi, 2 runs). Ben Krey led Johnny Vs/Flannery's offense going 2 for 3 with a rbi triple.

Flannery's JV's took game 2 of a doubleheader 7-5 over the Supreme Builders. The JV's overcame a 5-1 deficit with a 4-run 4th and 2-run 5th. Alex Marchen had a 2-run single to break a 5-5 tie. Lee kleszczynski had 3 hits and Marchen, and Dan Marx had 2 hits for the JV's. Steve Murphy picked up the win by going the distance by scattering 9 hits and giving up only 1 earned run. Dave Schimenz and Matt Cook had 2 hits each for the Builders. The Builders had the tying runs on base in the 7th but key defensive plays by SS Marchen and RF Jeff Kustermann preserved the lead and the win for the JV's.

 

 

Town & Lake Braves 10 Fed Life Phillies 0

The Braves took theie undefeated record for the year into the game against a very good opponent in the Phillies. For the first 4 innings it was nothing more than a pitchers duel. Then the Braves broke it open in the 5th with 4 runs and then scored 6 more in the top of the 7th to take game 1 of the double header. Josh Lemke pitched another phenominal game for the Braves going the distance getting the complete game shutout. Lemke confused the Phillies hitters all day and they never quite figured out what was coming next. Lemke's final line 7IP, 0R, 6 hits, 1 BB and 5 K's. The bats were also lead by Lemke going 3-4, 2B, 3RBI, R. Zach Stewart also chipped in going 2-3, 2B, 2RBI, 2R.

In game 2 of the double header the Braves were riding high from their game 1 shutout and looked to take the sweep home. In the bottom of the first the Braves jumped all over the Phillies, batting around and scoring 3 runs. That would all the Braves would need to win the game. They would put up 2 more runs in the 4th and 1 more in the 5th. On the mound in game 2 was Lee Waechter and he didn't dissappoint either just like Lemke didn't. Waechter went the distance only gave up 2 hits in the game both to Phillies hitter Jimmy K. Final line on Waechter 7IP, 0R, 2H, 1BB, 6K. Hitting for the Braves was Nick Voltner 2-4, 3B, RBI, 1R. Leading hitter for the Phillies was Jimmy Kuriantnik 2-3 2 singles.

A's picked up their first win of the season in extra innings over the Orioles.

The Orioles defense finally showed up in game 2 of the doubleheader as they snapped a three game losing streak where they lost all three in the final inning and finally played an error free game to get the win. Bryan MacPherson pitched a complete game one hitter striking out five to get the victory. Doug Dollhopf had three hits to lead the offense.

Leff's Beavers 12 West Allis Timber Rattlers 3

Bruce Smeby threw 4 1/3 perfect innings before leaving with a 3-0 deficit after five on timely hitting by the Timber Rattlers.  In the top of the sixth the Beavers woke up and scored four to take the lead, before piling on in the seventh with eight runs.  Todd Voit pitched the final two scoreless innings for the Beavers.
