Town and Lake Braves: 2 PJ's Tigers: 1
Braves went into the game on Saturday afternoon very shorthanded and looking to clinch their first American Division Title. With Josh Lemke on the mound the Braves took a 1-0 lead after the first inning on a Bill Gorman double. Then in the 5th the Braves would add another run. Eric Schmidt lead off with a single up the middle. Then pinch runner Zach Stewart took his place. After Paul Mallas was drilled in the ribs there were runners on 1st and 2nd. A pitch in the dirt and Zach Stewart took 3rd and scored on a Sac Fly by Bill Gorman. The Tigers would fight back to score 1 run in the 7th, but Lemke was too much for them to handle. He got them to hit a bunch of pop ups and the Braves defense was once again stellar not commiting any errors.
Milwaukee Beavers: 9 Franklin Snappers: 1
Jarrett Gates threw a two hit complete game and was backed up by near air tight defense as the Beavers defeated the Snappers 9-1 Friday night at Zirkel Field. Gates continued his recent hot streak on the mound by allowing just one unearned run in the first inning, then retired 15 of the next 18 batters to finish the game. The Beavers struck early, leading 5-1 after two innings, and putting the game away with a four run fifth inning. The offense was highlighted by Rob Tschimperle (3-5, 2B, 1rbi), Joe Cefalu (3rbi), Mike Schroeder (2-4, 2B, 2rbi) and Doug Martin (3-4).
