July 6th Make-ups

Long Wongs 12 Jimmy B's 7
Long Wongs came from behind twice to break the game open with a eight hit, six run fifth inning that featured five consecutive hits by Ryan Estes, Greg Ketz, John Kuhn, Josh Sopczak and Bruce Smeby to start the inning.  Smeby again turned in another strong preformance on the mound to get the win.  Long Wongs offense got multiple hit games by Adam Graves, Estes, Kuhn, Sopczak and Smeby. 

The Steakout 15 MPD 5
The Steakout used erratic pitching and timely hitting to send 16 batters to the plate in the top of the first. The result was an early 10 run lead that MPD was unable to recover from. Josh Weinhandl held MPD scoreless for the final 3 innings as Steakout plated 3 in the 6th to end this one early.

In Game 2 of this Divisional doubleheader, The Steakout put in a total team effort for the 13-1 victory. Chad Torn threw a 5 inning complete game giving up 2 hits and striking out 7. Chad also contributed a 3 run HR for The Steakout. As a team The Steakout hit .435 with an OBP of .656 in this impressive game 2 victory.

Johnny V's 6 Milwaukee Patriots 5
Johnny V's held on to beat the Patriots 6-5 in game 1 of doubeleader. V's overcame a 3-1 deficit with a 4 run 5th inning. Rob weist and Eric Lubarsly had the key hits. The Patriots came back and cut the lead to 6-5 in the 7th inning with 2 run homer by Greg Grocholski. Dan Goral went 6 2/3 to get the win and Jeff Kustermann got the last out with the tying and go ahead runs on base to get the save.

Johnny V's 4 Milwaukee Patriots 0
Johnny V's beat the Patriots 4-0 to get the doubleheader sweep. Mike Gramarossa ptiched a 1-hitter while striking out six to get the win. V's 3-run 2nd inning proved to be enough offense in the win. Rob Weist and Tony Lubarsky had 2 hits for Johnny V's.
