The MBL has strived during it's existence to make certain that we exemplify high standards of sportsmanship. We have a good relationship with the umpires, which has led to the MBL having some of the better umpires in the area. We would appreciate that players and fans remember that we are all MBLers, not MLBers, and keep their opinions to themselves during games. While we realize that in the heat of competition there will be flare-ups, it is still expected that players, managers and fans alike will be mature enough to settle those occurances quickly and quietly. We will not tolerate abuse of umpires, players or fans under any circumstances.
Though unsportsmanlike behavior has been rare in our history, it has unfortunately occured. If a player, manager or fan causes a team to forfeit, please know that will cause the forfeiting team a $150 fine, and suspensions. If you have an opinion that you feel needs to be heard, tell your team's manager AFTER the game and he will contact the league. During games, it is only the managers and captains that should (beyond brief questions players may ask regarding a play) discuss matters with umpires, and then only briefly for explanations and rules clarifications. Finally, we expect our players to keep the language relatively clean. Excessive or loud swearing can and should lead to ejection.
